Het asiel van La Linéa was om allerlei redenen toe aan een fikse renovatie.
De verblijven van de dieren waren in zeer slechte conditie. De opvang en plaatsing van de honden vindt nu nog plaats in geïmproviseerde kennels. Veelal gebouwd van materialen die voorhanden waren en soms aangevuld door ijzeren kennels, geschonken door Nederlandse donateurs. De meeste verblijven van de honden zijn eigenlijk krotten zoals u kunt zien op onze foto's en videobeelden op onze site.

Aankomst Amsterdam 29 juni 2009 |
Met een enorme vertraging van ruim 2 1/2 uur kwamen de hondjes op Schiphol aan. Ze vlogen mee met twee van onze stagiaires die na enkele weken hulp in het asiel weer huiswaarts keerden. Het TV programma "Hello Goodbye" intervieuwde en filmde het opvanggezin van onze lieve Noor.

Podenco meeting Amersfoort |
Op zaterdag 20 juni was de Podenco meeting in Amersfoort. De Stichting Second Chance Foundation was ook aanwezig en werd gepresenteerd door Netty ten Kulve met Lieke en Cor Frentz met Frans.

After a stormy season with severe showers of rain, spring has finally reached Spain. Temperatures are rising which of course give ticks and other parasites plenty of room to play.
Ticks are parasites; they feed themselves by taking in people’s and animals’ blood. They manage to go unnoticed and can spend hours or days on skin or fur and absorb blood. At this moment, there is a real tick outbreak in our rescue shelter and our volunteers are doing everything they can to fight it.
Fortunately, our foundation is able to buy flick control applicators at very low cost in The Netherlands. The same applicator (same brand!) is approximately 2 Euros more expensive in Spain.
We have already bought 200 applicators however the average usage per month in our rescue shelter is more than 300!
If you want to help us to protect the dogs and prevent re-infestation, please donate 1 or more applicators. The average price of 1 applicator is 4 Euros.
